Hi, Iā€™m Geryn!

I created my first pinch pot in kindergarten, and have been working with clay ever since. I received a BFA in ceramics and a teaching certificate from the University of Iowa in 2009.  I graduated with an MFA in ceramics from the University of North Texas in 2013, and have exhibited my work nationally and internationally. Currently, I live and work in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and teach ceramics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

GerWare Ceramics is the lovechild of my long-standing adoration of functional ceramics. My pots are inspired by mid-century design and analog techniques. I use pinched slabs and coils to create one-of-a-kind designs. I am committed to making usable work that turns daily routines into daily rituals.
